Two Months

Two months. Wow!! It is incredible to see how much Natalie has changed. This is our chance as parents to brag a little bit about our daughter. She is super cute! Her dimples add that extra bit of charm to her very frequent smiles. Her giggles are starting to come more often but yet they are not very established. She has been more awake yet still getting plenty of sleep. Her nights are getting longer which is a relief for her mom. We have enjoyed our time with her and look forward to what the future brings!

I was trying to get a good video of Natalie to add here. We took quite a few but this one was one of my favourites. It will be obvious why after watching it!

Great Grandma

Mom called me on the morning of January 4 to see if I would want to go with her to Swift Current to see my Grandma. This was also the first time that Natalie got to meet her Great Grandma Schellenberg. We had an excellent time visiting and we even got to see Auntie Nancy for a little bit! Our drive home was rather interesting though. The roads were terrible and we ended up driving really slow. We saw two vehicles go in the ditch just ahead of us but thankfully nobody was injured. Hopefully we can do this trip again soon!

1-2-3 Cheese

We had a goal to get a new family picture taken. So we cleared an area big enough for all of us and set up the camera and tripod. Here are a few of the pictures that were taken in the process. Yes I know my family may not be happy with me and find some of the pictures embarrassing but I thought that they were pretty awesome! The end result looks pretty good I think.

And Baby Makes Three

Christmas

The Christmas season was definitely a different one for us this year for fairly obvious reasons. It was our first Christmas as a family of three. With the recent experience of having a child, it gave me a different perspective on the Christmas story and definitely more appreciation for the miracles that took place. There are so many things that I had never thought of until I experienced it myself. I couldn't imagine riding on a donkey, or giving birth in a stable with no doctors, help, pain medication or extra pillows. Both Mary and Joseph must
have had a lot of faith.
We were together on January 1 with the Paetkau side for a turkey supper. It was good to spend time with those that could make it and we were missing those who couldn't be there. We had a good time with everybody and we were very excited for Natalie to meet her Aunt Laura and Uncle Rob as well as her great Auntie Eleanor and Brian.

Thank you so much, it is beautiful!!

We had our Plett Christmas on December 27. It is a tradition to read the Christmas story before opening gifts. Carathy got a Bible a few years ago and she has now taken over that role. Here are just a few pictures from our time together. Natalie spent the entire gift opening sleeping so we got to open all of her gifts!
