Lameroo

Australia.......What can I say?!! Well ever since Dylan and I got married, we have been tossing around this crazy idea. But now, it is official. We applied for a program called 'Agriventure'. This program allows you too go to another country and work on a farm.
It really all started for us in January. We arranged a meeting with a couple who were to interview us to see if we would be good candidates. From there, all of our information got sent on to the office. It wasn't long after that when we got our acceptance letter and some more paperwork to fill out. At this time, the acceptance was based on the condition that a suitable host family would be found for us. We have had to do alot of waiting so far, but it has finally paid off!! Just the other day we got a letter from our host family!! This was and still is very exciting news for us. We will be going to a small town called Lameroo. The population is about 600 people with about 1400 in the district. It is 2 1/2 hrs east of the district capital of Adelaide. They have had a drought for the past three years so you can only imagine that it is pretty brown there.

Now A Little About The Farm
Our host family is Heather and Grantley Pearce. They have three kids, Jeffrey, Sarah and Ben. They operate with some crops, sheep, and a cattle feedlot. We are not sure about the sheep yet but we will take it all in stride!! We will be there for sheering which will definitely be an experience for both of us! They also get alot of baby calves (3-7 days) that will be hand reared. We don't know a whole lot about the farm yet but we will try to update.

We are very excited about this experience and are looking forward to keeping everybody updated on what is going on in our lives as we are down there.

This map points to Adelaide. We will be East of there.

This is one of the streets in Lameroo. It was taken in 2006 so it is not updated.

This link shows you exactly where Lameroo is. If you zoom in enough you can see the town!! You will have to move over to Australia first and then zoom in. If you aim near Adelaide, you will eventually see it!!

The Honeymoon

After the Wedding, we stayed at Rafter Six Ranch. We went hiking, white water rafting, and on a trail ride through the mountains. We also spent some time in Banff and Canmore. As many of you know, I am very interested in photography. This was an excellent opportunity for me to practice and get some excellent shots!!

This was the Cabin that we stayed in!

This is a unique shot of the Country Church at the ranch. There are alot of weddings that take place here. Everything you need would be available at the ranch.

This is one of the dogs at the ranch. It is huge!! Below are some pictures

to help with the comparison!!

These pictures below were taken in Banff and Canmore.

Our Beginning

July 19, 2008. What a perfect place to start!! Our Wedding Day turned out to be amazing. With all the guests seated and the candles lit, we stood at the front of the Church and exchanged vows, rings and commitments between each other and with God. The weather was beautiful, with a perfect sky as a background. We would like to thank Curtis again for doing our pictures and Wendy for helping as well. They turned out to be gorgeous.

We were so relaxed, which made it easier to

have a little fun!! It made for better pictures too!!

Our Wedding Party: Jaymi, Kyle, Andrea, Josh, Larissa, Mike

Dylan's Family

Debbie's Family

Caleb and Debbie -Nephew and Ring Bearer

Katelyn, Carathy and Debbie

This was our ride to the Reception Hall after the Ceremony. We thought
it was pretty creative and fun!! Thank-you so much to Henry Neufeld
for driving and also for the use of the tractor!!

This is a picture of our program, flowers, and rings!!

After the wedding was all said and done with, I found a few pictures in some magazines that I wanted to try. So in Novemeber, we got all dressed up again and took a few.

Thanks go to Jen for these!!

Starting Out

Welcome to our Blog!! This is kind of a new thing for the both of us, but we thought we would give it a try. We had the idea that this might be the easiest way to keep in contact with people as we begin our journey. We hope that you enjoy this and that you check back often for updates!!
