It really all started for us in January. We arranged a meeting with a couple who were to interview us to see if we would be good candidates. From there, all of our information got sent on to the office. It wasn't long after that when we got our acceptance letter and some more paperwork to fill out. At this time, the acceptance was based on the condition that a suitable host family would be found for us. We have had to do alot of waiting so far, but it has finally paid off!! Just the other day we got a letter from our host family!! This was and still is very exciting news for us. We will be going to a small town called Lameroo. The population is about 600 people with about 1400 in the district. It is 2 1/2 hrs east of the district capital of Adelaide. They have had a drought for the past three years so you can only imagine that it is pretty brown there.
Now A Little About The Farm
Our host family is Heather and Grantley Pearce. They have three kids, Jeffrey, Sarah and Ben. They operate with some crops, sheep, and a cattle feedlot. We are not sure about the sheep yet but we will take it all in stride!! We will be there for sheering which will definitely be an experience for both of us! They also get alot of baby calves (3-7 days) that will be hand reared. We don't know a whole lot about the farm yet but we will try to update.
We are very excited about this experience and are looking forward to keeping everybody updated on what is going on in our lives as we are down there.

This map points to Adelaide. We will be East of there.

This is one of the streets in Lameroo. It was taken in 2006 so it is not updated.
This link shows you exactly where Lameroo is. If you zoom in enough you can see the town!! You will have to move over to Australia first and then zoom in. If you aim near Adelaide, you will eventually see it!!
